8th August 2005:
End of the Alliance?
Bad news for all the would be O'Neil's out there as things head into limbo.
Posted by Chris Snook - Xbox,PC,PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe

Everyone knows that the games market is a vicious business. That sometimes tens of millions of dollars can be pumped into development of a title and that there is a certain pressure to deliver a quality product on time.

Now it seems that the forthcoming Stargate SG-1: The Alliance has become a victim of those pressures.

Publishers, JoWood Productions are unhappy with the way that the title has been developed by Aussie developer Perception. Citing that they have placed a considerable level of investment into the development and that they have lost confidence in there being a game by the October release date and at a level of quality that they would wish to release at.

Apparently JoWood have a clause that allows them to take control of any source code that has been written and any other assets relating to the title, in the hope that they can find a new development company to complete the game. Needless to say this may either delay the title or in the worst case kill it entirely.

More news as we gain it.
