Squad Assault: Second Wave is a 3D tactical real-time strategy game that places you in the thick of things and it has just gone gold.

Set in 1944 and covering the D-Day landings and the following months as the Allied forces strove to drive the German Army back to where it came. It concentrates on delivering an experience based around company level tactics and operations. There are six scenarios to select from, each delivering historically accurate and hypothetical missions to try, each campaign responding dynamically to your strategies.

There is also a LAN/internet gaming feature that allows you to play against others across the globe, each honing their skills against yours. As a further bonus there is built in support for modding, with fifty modder-made maps ready to rock and roll.

SA:SW is due out in the US next month.
