Dogs go to war on the DS
Nintendogs and Advance Wars: Dual Strike have given the DS new (dog)leash of life.

The game we are waiting for more than any other, Nintendogs has been a huge success in America following its release on Monday. Many high street stores have reported that they have sold out of the initial shipment after pre-release hype seems to have paid off.

Following the smart move to reduce the price of the Nintendo DS console to $129.99, gamers have been snapping up a combination of console and Nintendogs. Electronics Boutique stores have actually implemented a staff motto in certain stores along the lines of fast food retail. Each Nintendo DS they sell is prompted with the phrase, "Would you like Nintendogs with that?"

What many Americans don't realise is that Advance Wars: Duel Strike was also released on Monday. The word from the American games journalists is that this is actually better than Nintendogs! Quite simply, this means two games that are worthy of a DS purchase if you don't already own one.

Silicon Fusion will give playtests to both tomorrow when we get our hands on them, if we can draw ourselves away from the DS for long enough, which is not an easy feat when it practically fits into our mansize pockets.
