Posted by Chris Snook - Xbox - UK and Europe It has been a long hard slog, the journey has been tough and the objective has altered over time. Now finally after spending time regrouping and rearming ready for the final push, Operation Flashpoint: Elite is ready for action. Based on the PC title Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, the renamed Elite brings all the former's combat nous as you take on a renegade Soviet Red Army enemy as NATO, with all the action left intact with a few more added extra's. For a start there will be XBox Live support, allowing for online conflicts to take place to your hearts desire as you control a mix of infantry - both on a squad and individual level - forty different land, sea and air vehicles, all over massive landscapes in order to achieve your objectives. There will even be a bonus of fifty online maps to take a pot-shot through. Further goodies are a new fifteen mission campaign called 'Resistance', where you get to play essentially the prequel to the whole shebang. Couple all this with an engine that the US military use to power some of their own simulations and you have what could be a winner. Operation Flashpoint: Elite is due for a November release.
