7th September 2005:
Winter of our Content?
Winter is coming, a fresh blast of frigid air that will gladden the hearts of all Marines.
Posted by Chris Snook - PC - UK and Europe

As the lead up to Dawn of War: Winter Assault, the first add-on for last years Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War winds down ready for release THQ are preparing the field by releasing the latest Dawn of War patch.

As you will already know, Winter Assault introduces a new army to take to the field of battle on the side of humanity. The Imperial Guard, doughty defenders of Earth in the service of the Emperor, more numerous than the Elite Space Marines they are however less well equipped and arguably less well trained. Now they bring their own style of combat to the table, along with new tactics, new units and a new impetus to what is being billed as the biggest expansion for any game - ever.

The patch will address balance issues within the game, add improvement for lower specification machines and allow for persistent bodies and decals, once dead they remain there until the end of the conflict. Plus a slew of other tweaks.

Winter Assault is due out on the 23rd of this month whilst the patch will become available from the update option from tomorrow (08/09/05).
