Kojima announces new company
Metal Gear Guru, Hideo Kojima, has announced the establishment of his new production company, with details of Metal Gear Solid 4 included.

The newly established Kojima Productions has announced that Metal Gear Solid 4 is well into production, for the PlayStation 3 no less.

In the twilight of the Tokyo game show a rather impressive press statement from Konami itself was released:
"Hideo Kojima's creations are world-renowned for their incredible high quality," said Kazumi Kitaue, Executive Corporate Officer in charge of America and Europe at Konami Corporation. "Konami Corporation constructed Kojima Productions in order to further promote his creativity. Konami will continue to develop new and exciting game content in order to offer innovative, interactive entertainment for the next generation of game consoles. Fans from all over the world will have their eyes focused on the new adventures Hideo Kojima is creating in MGS4."

From infiltrating enemy compounds and super structures (warehouses, anyone?) in the first two games, to the challenges of the jungle environment in the third, the new instalment aims to bring a totally new concept and situation, possibly resulting in the toughest Metal Gear infiltration mission yet constructed by the genius of Kojima. The game is set after the events of Solid 2 and players will reprise the role of top secret agent Solid Snake with appearances by characters throughout the series. With the addition of online capability, the fourth in the Metal Gear Solid series will surely be a key factor in exhibiting the PlayStation 3's capabilities.

On a smaller note, the new studio will also be releasing an update of the already classic Metal Gear Solid 3 with the subtitle 'Subsistence'. This new version for the PlayStation 2 will feature online gameplay, new camera angles for the single player game and other extras such as a demo theatre and the complete versions of the first two games.

Check out our screenshots below and attempt to make a story out of them. Until we get any further plot or gameplay details, all we have to go in is what we see in the pictures, so enjoy them 'hot off the press'. This establishment by Kojima can only mean that all formats will eventually benefit from his development genius, hopefully soon.
