6th October 2005:
New shots of Quake IV on the 360 (X05)
Quake IV is coming soon to the PC, but the Xbox 360 seems more than capible of stealing the praise...
Posted by Chris Barnett - PC - UK and Europe

The PC version of the much anticipated Quake IV has been given a release date of October 21st, the week after FEAR is let loose on the world! This means that PC gamers will get two of the games that they pawned their loved ones for in the space of seven days!

In addition to this news, id Software is busy at the X05 showing off actual in-game footage of Quake IV running in real-time on the Xbox 360. The level of graphical depth is astonishing as id have already gained a comfortable position as coders for Microsoft's consoles with the impressive Doom 3 for the existing Xbox.

Looking side-by-side at screenshots for the PC and Xbox 360 version of Quake IV, there is no difference at all. In fact, the 360 version will probably be superior as it will have the extra development time.

Below are two brand new screenshots from the X05 version of Quake IV, and both were running in real-time.

We will bring you details of the game when it is released on the PC on the 21st of October, but until then you can ponder over mundane issues such as eating and sleeping.
