Halo the movie is finished!
The screenplay for the upcoming Halo movie is finished, with Peter Jackson on board as the executive producer too.

The movie version of Halo has been the topic of much speculation since it was announced last year, but now things are finally coming together, it seems as if it could actually be good.

The screenwriter, Alex Garland has announced that he has actually finished the script. Garland, writer of classic novel 'The Beach' and screenwriter of '28 Days Later' is very happy with the script and considers it fit to start shooting from. He is actually a videogame fan, as seen in his sneaky game scene in the Leonardo Dicaprio adaptation of 'The Beach'. But this is his first true videogame adaptation.

Although no director has been announced yet; 'Lord of the Rings' genius Peter Jackson has been confirmed as executive producer after his apparent love of the Xbox game. He was rumoured as director for a while, but this has been quashed - the actual director will be confirmed within two weeks.

When you consider all the companies involved in this recent batch of announcements: Universal, Fox, Microsoft and Bungie; it becomes more apparent that this should be something very special if pulled off well enough.

All we need to do now is wait until the director is announced before we start camping outside the cinemas until 2007.
