Posted by John Grothier - Xbox,PlayStation 2,GameCube,PC - UK and Europe

This coming December will se the release of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia The Two Thrones on the Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube and PC.

The Prince of Persia, a seasoned warrior, returns from the Island of Time to Babylon with his love Kaileena. Instead of the peace that he longs for, he finds his homeland ravaged by war and the kingdom turned against him. The Prince is rapidly captured and Kaileena has no choice but to sacrifice herself and unleash the Sands of Time in order to save him. Now cast to the streets and hunted as a fugitive, the Prince soon discovers that past battles have given rise to a deadly Dark Prince, whose spirit gradually possesses him...

This new adventure for the Prince will feature two distinct characters, and players will wield the powers and weapons of two master warriors with different combat styles, attitudes, and histories. Ubisoft promise an unparalleled depth in storytelling as you fight your way through a twisting tale filled with adrenaline, tension and discovery.

Players will be able to execute powerful attacks against entire armies by slowing down or rewinding time, or surprise them by using some all-new Sands of Time powers. Also staying true to the Prince of Persia franchise, the game provides a variety of action combat, agility and story-driven puzzles - all masterfully blended together into a rich gaming experience

Wade Konowalchuk: Animation Director said:"For Prince of Persia The Two Thrones, our goal is to raise the bar of quality once again in terms of animation. With our team of highly trained animators, we were able to create sets of hundreds of new animations with the Prince of Persia touch, like the Speed Kill moves, the Dagger plant move, the 45 degree rebound or the sliding moves etc...

Wade continues:"The in-game cinematics was another area in which we wanted to improve upon. Too often when an in-game cinematic kicks in, the player wants to simply skip it. For POP T2T, we really wanted to make the cinematics as interesting and fun as possible for the player to watch, so that they will understand the story fully. We focused heavily on the characters' acting abilities, and also on making the movement as accurate and believable as possible."

Matthew Clarke, for lead AI and gameplay had this to say about the new project: "In answer to the new moves developed for the Prince and the Dark Prince, the enemies needed to be enhanced with a new AI system, so we completely reworked this important feature of the game. POP T2T definitely puts forward tough and rewarding enemies to play against."

More news - as we get it.
