Now a few years on and the satellite's life support is beginning to fail, the aliens have done a Lord Lucan and have vanished and there are other oddities, to this end a team of specialists are sent to the surface to find out what is going on. Aftershock is also going to blend tactical squad play - the hallmark of the series - with a greater, strategic, global overview that takes into account resources and whatnot whilst allowing for encounters inside and out down on Earth. There will be an all new system for training your troops and new technologies to guine... instruct them in how to use, all the while as you use diplomacy and force to achieve your objectives.
