3rd November 2005:
Mario Kart DS bundle announced
Nintendo continues to show that its DS is a serious contender by releasing a killer bundle for its first Wi-Fi game.
Posted by Chris Barnett - - UK and Europe

Nintendo is set to celebrate the launch of its eagerly anticipated Mario Kart DS game with an exclusive Nintendo DS bundle, launching on 25th November 2005 alongside the game. Not only will new owners be able to get their hands on a Nintendo DS console and game in one handy pack, but they will get them both for the great value price of just £100. If you have been looking for an excuse to buy a Nintendo DS this is surely it, although we have already used enough excuses to buy consoles in the past to last a lifetime (the one about a slim-line PlayStation 2 being a pacemaker is a particular favourite).

The Mario Kart DS Pak is the perfect package for Christmas, and following on from the massive success of the Nintendogs Blue and Pink Nintendo DS bundles, it is sure to be a massive hit. Mario Kart first launched on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System so long ago and since then, with games having launched for Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo GameCube, Mario Kart has become a phenomenon with gamers and Nintendo fans alike. It is one of the few games that non-gamers will easily admit to playing and enjoying. By the end of March 2005, almost 30 million Mario Kart games had been sold worldwide. Now that's a lot of Karting!

The latest incarnation in the hugely popular series is also the first Nintendo DS game to offer online play, allowing you to race against people across the world at anytime you like. Players will be able to race wirelessly with up to eight friends or over the internet with three other players from anywhere in the world, as long as they have a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector.

The Nintendo DS launched across Europe on 11th March 2005 and has already sold 6.65 million worldwide at the end of June 2005, embracing its innovative touch-screen technology as the stylish and most original games console of this generation, or any other for that matter.

Mario Kart DS launches on November 25th 2005 at the price of £29.99, so get saving and smashing piggy banks now (especially as so many good games are coming out soon, as well as the tiny release of the Xbox 360).

Also launching on November 25th 2005 is the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector which will enable players who have Broadband at home to join in the Wi-Fi fun. The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector will be priced at around £30 and will be a smart buy for anyone wishing to take full advantage of their Nintendo DS. This adapter will be used for further online features and games in the future so is quite essential to those wanting to 'get with it'.

We look forwards to challenging any readers to a race on November 25th, but until then you can just heckle us from afar.
