More of the Prince
Ubisoft release some new screenshots from their upcoming title, Prince of Persia The Two Thrones.
Posted by John Grothier - GameCube,PlayStation 2,Xbox,PC - UK and Europe

Due out this December for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC, The Prince of Persia, a seasoned warrior, returns from the Island of Time to Babylon with his love Kaileena. Instead of the peace that he longs for, he finds his homeland ravaged by war and the kingdom turned against him. The Prince is rapidly captured and Kaileena has no choice but to sacrifice herself and unleash the Sands of Time in order to save him.

Now cast to the streets and hunted as a fugitive, the Prince soon discovers that past battles have given rise to a deadly Dark Prince, whose spirit gradually possesses him...

In this new adventure play and master two distinct characters and wield the powers and weapons of two master warriors with different combat styles, attitudes, and histories. Players must master the expanded Free-Form Fighting system to destroy enemies in your own style; strangle enemies from afar with the deadly Daggertail; or use a new stealth art to inflict surprise decapitations - the choice is yours. Dominate enemies on the perilous rooftops, dodge through chaotic streets, and ambush pursuers in dark, underground passageways.

Experience unparalleled depth in storytelling as you fight your way through a twisting tale filled with adrenaline, tension and discover, while executing powerful attacks against entire armies by slowing down or rewinding time, or surprise them by using some all-new Sands of Time powers.

True to the Prince of Persia franchise, the game provides a variety of action combat, agility and story-driven puzzles - all masterfully blended together into a rich gaming experience.

POPT2T takes place in the homeland of the Prince: Babylon. For the first time in the POP franchise, the team has developed a predominantly outdoor and urban environment – a big change from both the Sands of Time and Warrior Within settings.

This environment opened up a lot of new possibilities in terms of level design and paved the way to the creation of a whole new set of platforming moves. We tried to use the urban environment in a credible way to add extra moves to the already broad range of athletic abilities of the Prince. Our ambition was to give the player a real sense of immersion in the war ravaged Babylon as well as feelings of vertigo and openness to large horizons when exploring the rooftops.

New moves have been developed for the Prince such as diagonal jumps and rebounds, which are amazing to perform on rooftops. The ability to slide down between two close walls, the 'dagger plant', a move that allows the prince to 'stick' to walls or trigger mechanisms, and rappel moves, allowing the prince to slide down head-first on a rope etc.

These moves will be very helpful to approach guards without being detected and perform Speed Kills. The Speed Kill System was developed in POPT2T to push the Prince's athletic abilities even further.

More news - as we get it.
