10th November 2005:
Trueplayerz Launches
The UK Online sponsored charity gaming tournaments are now part of the official Xbox Live Calendar.
Posted by John Grothier - Xbox - UK and Europe

Trueplayerz launches this coming Sunday 13th November followed by another online sponsored charity gaming tournament on Sunday 4th December.

With the addition of the Xbox Live Trueplayerz events, gamers from across the world can now compete for prizes and cash for the charity of their choice. Whilst the Trueplayerz team are preparing for the next real world event on Sunday 20th November at London's Marquee Club, Last Man Standing, one of the UK's leading tournament organisers will be co-ordinating this Sunday's Xbox Live event starting from 2pm.

The first Xbox Live Trueplayerz tournament will take place on Halo 2 from 2pm with the winner scoring $100 for themselves and $100 for the charity of their choice. There will also be Joystick Junkies t-shirts for the runner's up. Members of the Trueplayerz team will also be on hand to answer questions and promote forthcoming events.

Whilst the action is going on, Paul Gordon's Game School team will be running a separate training room with Brit pro-gaming royalty 4 Kings who will be leading a tips & tricks session on Halo 2 for newcomers who must be ranking 10 or below to take part. If you would like to join this event check the link at the bottom of this article.

Xbox Live Trueplayerz Tournament – Sunday 13th November @ 2pm

Players will be competing in a variety of Rumble Slayer matches with a maximum of 8 players on maps including: Beaver Creek, Lockout, Turf, Ivory Tower and Foundation. There will be four tournament rooms, which will be opened 5 minutes prior to the start of each match (see match times below). Each round will last 10 minutes with the player with highest kills reaching the semi finals.

Competitors must add one of the relevant servers to their friends list prior to start.

UK/European Players: Last Man 2 and Last Man 6

U.S. Players: Last Man 1 and Last Man 4

If the server's friend's list is full then try adding your regions other gamer tag. If you cannot gain access to the game, the game is full. You can try the other gamer tag for your region or wait for the next round of matches. Rooms are closed once either the maximum amount of people is reached or match start time has been reached. Only the top player goes through in each round.
