Posted by Chris Barnett - - UK and Europe Not to be outdone by Nintendo's Mario Kart DS (due out next Friday), Atlus has announced a new game in the Snowboard Kids series - for the Nintendo DS. The previous two games in the series were cult favourite on the Nintendo 64 when it was enjoying the peak of its life. But for those who remember those days this will be a different game for a new generation of fans, especially as the game' 'mini' design always seemed to be aimed at portability. Snowboard Kids for the Nintendo DS has all the elements gamers loved in Snowboard Kids 1 and 2, plus a slew of new features for a new generation. Featuring touch screen controls, wireless multiplayer competition, new weapons, new characters, and a huge speed boost for snowboard racing games - this could be the snow alternative to Mario's racing goodness! The features that have been discussed so far are: The ability to score mad points by obtaining items, doing tricks, and earning a high ranking for each lap! The ability to take advantage of key and strategic areas perfect for doing the hottest tricks at the precise moment. The ability to pull off impressive tricks, fill a combo/trick meter and unlock special tricks unique to each character! Currency earned from any game mode can be used to purchase new boards and other cool gear! This is sounding quite good and could be one to sneak up on many people. We remember the Nintendo 64 versions though and were excited simply by the prospect of the game returning. The game should be released sometime in December, in time for the real UK snow.
