Nintendo today announced that they are splashing out on a €20 million European marketing campaign to promote both their GameCube and Game Boy Advance consoles this Christmas. In a style similar to the launch adverts, the TV spots will be split into two categories, one which will advertise GameCube gaming in general, and others that will focus on individual GameCube and Game Boy Advance titles. The former will include references to Eternal Darkness, FIFA 2003, Metroid Prime, Legend of Zelda, Resident Evil 0, Super Mario Sunshine, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles and 1080° Avalanche. Meanwhile, the individual spots will feature titles such as Starfox Adventures, Mario Party 4 and Metroid Fusion, and will appear on both terrestrial and satellite channels during November and December.
With such marketing muscle, as well as possibly the most impressive Christmas lineup of all three next-generation consoles, the GameCube seems set for a pretty successful holiday period. We hope to have full reviews of Starfox Adventures and the other Christmas releases very soon!
