Posted by Marc Hull - Xbox - UK and Europe Microsoft today announced that they had signed a deal with Sega Europe to publish two upcoming Sega-developed Xbox games in Europe. Toe Jam and Earl III: Mission to Earth is the first game to be affected by the deal; it's an Xbox-exclusive title that continues the Toe Jam and Earl franchise made popular on the Megadrive, and will feature Xbox Live enhancements, such as the ability to download new levels from the Internet. The second game is Shenmue II, which is being significantly improved over the Dreamcast version to take full advantage of the Xbox hardware. Expect a better framerate, some improved character and world models as well as some neat special effects when the game arrives in Spring 2003. "We're very excited about this new agreement with Sega," said Michel Cassius, Director of Xbox Platform EMEA. "Both ToeJam & Earl III and Shenmue II are hotly-anticipated titles from some of the industry's most renowned developers and we’re pleased to be bringing them to Xbox gamers in Europe.
