Sonic Mega Collection screens and details
Relive memories of the Megadrive with this collection of Sonic games for the GameCube.

Although they may have been released in the 90's, many still regard the original Megadrive Sonic games as some of the greatest games of all time, and they're still good fun to play now. Fortunately, if you missed them the first time round you don't have to search on E-Bay for a 2nd-hand Megadrive; instead just pick up Sonic Mega Collection on the GameCube when it's released in early 2003. This neat title contains ports of seven classic Sonic games on a single disk, plus some great background information on how the little blue hedgehog was created and loads of neat secrets to be unlocked!

The Sonic game's included in the package are Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic 3D, Sonic Spinball and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. You'll also be able to take advantage of Sonic and Knuckle's backwards compatibility feature and play as Knuckles in Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, and even play the secret special-stage game in Sonic 1. You'll also get to watch video clips and see artwork from Sonic's history, and there are even hidden games to be unlocked!

Unfortunately titles like Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix, which many regard as some of the greatest titles in the series, are no-where to be seen. Neither is the much-rumoured beta demo of Sonic Xtreme, the Saturn Sonic game that was canned half-way through development. However, even so this is still well worth looking out for if you're a Sonic fan. We hope to have more details soon!
