First screens of Virtua Tennis on Game Boy Advance
See how Sega are translating their fantastic next-gen tennis series to the smaller screen with these first shots
Posted by Marc Hull - Game Boy Advance - UK and Europe

With the Virtua Tennis series already being a hit on the Dreamcast and recently making the leap to PlayStation 2, Sega are hoping to generate a similar level of success with a Game Boy Advance version, which is set to hit European shores later this year. The game's simplistic control system should suit the handheld particularly well, and a pseudo-3D engine is being used to retain the 'behind the player' viewpoint of the original titles. However, whether the digital pad of the Game Boy Advance will allow shots to be placed as accurately as the analogue sticks on the next-gen versions remains to be seen. Unfortunately, we have little information on the game modes that will exist in the handheld version, but these first screenshots hint that some of the mini-games from the Dreamcast and PS2 versions are being ported, which hopefully means that the handheld version will contain the excellent World Tour mode from the original titles. We hope to have further details and a full review closer to the game's release.
