19th January 2003:
Eidos reveals more Angel of Darkness screens
The latest Tomb Raider game is due out for release next month! See how it's shaping up with these new shots.
Posted by Marc Hull - PC,PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe

Since the Tomb Raider franchise first made its mark on the gaming world back in 1996 its popularity has been seemingly unstoppable, and it's incredibly likely that this year will be Lara's best yet. As well as a sequel to her film, Core are busy developing her first next-generation game, subtitled The Angel of Darkness, and today we were lucky to get our hands on some new screenshots from it.

Unfortunately, very little it known about the game's storyline, other than that Lara has been accused of murdering her mentor, Werner Von Croy, and is on the run from the police. It's likely that the game will combine the traditional platforming/exploration aspects of the original titles with new stealth elements as she tries to avoid capture. These new screens show off some of the game's impressive environments, and also hint at a second, male playable character, although how he ties in with the story is still unclear.

We hope to have more on The Angel of Darkness as Eidos lifts the game's shroud closer to its tentative February release, so keep your eyes on Silicon Fusion!
