25th January 2003:
New screens of Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters
Check out these latest screenshots from Konami's anime-based strategy-RPG for the Game Boy Advance.

While anime may not be as widespread over here as it is in Japan, it does have quite a cult following. So, for those of you who enjoy importing anime films and found the likes of Pokemon appealing, the latest game in the Yu-Gi-Oh! series may well be for you. Like Nintendo's popular monster-breeding franchise, Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters requires you to collect and look after a variety of unusual animals, which can then be deployed in battle. However, where as Pokemon concentrated on adventuring and RPG genres, Dungeon Dice Monsters requires a more strategic approach.

Each of the game's dungeons resembles a board game, where characters can only move onto a limited number of squares. On each move, you roll a dice which dictates which monsters you can summon and how well you fare against your enemies. It may sound like a very 'old-skool' concept, but with over 100 monsters to be collected, this series has already made waves in Japan, and Konami are hoping to recreate its success over here. We're certainly intrigued, and hope to bring you further information as we get it; in the meantime, here are some new screenshots for you to take a look at.
