First screens of Neverwinter Nights expansion
Venture forth into the Shadows of Undrentide in the first of two expansion packs for the popular PC RPG, Neverwinter Nights.
Posted by Marc Hull - PC - UK and Europe

When BioWare released their latest epic role playing game, Neverwinter Nights, upon the anxious PC gaming market last year, they gave RPG fans a massive game on the same level as their previous titles like Baldurs Gate, but this time fleshed out in full 3D. This achievement was enough to propel the game into the charts, and even win its developers a BAFTA for the best in 'Interactive Entertainment'. However, despite its vast world and seemingly endless quests, with many gamers locking themselves away in a dark closet with the only light emerging from their PC's monitor in order to play it for weeks, nay months on end, there was a fair chance that people would complete it and still be begging for more. So, if you're one of these people, or simply want a change to the game's standard quests, then you'll be very pleased to hear that we've got the first screenshots of an official expansion pack, which is to be released later this Spring.

Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide will offer players an extra 40 hour-long single player campaign, as well as additional skills, feats, classes, monsters, weapons and spells. The expansion pack will also contain two new tile sets that can be used in the Aurora toolset to allow players to create completely different worlds. "Over the past few months, fans of Neverwinter Nights have been engrossed in the Official Campaign, or building their own incredible adventures with the Toolset, or guiding their friends through the thousands of user created modules as a Dungeon Master, or even tweaking the game in ways we'd not anticipated all very exciting for us to see. They've also been asking for more 'official content' and we're happy to be able to accommodate them with expansion packs," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, joint CEO and Co-Executive Producer. "I think Dungeons & Dragons fans will be surprised and pleased with the new content and stories we're creating."

We hope to have more details on both this and the second, as yet unannounced Neverwinter Nights expansion pack later this year.
