The Sims released on Xbox and GameCube!
Electronic Arts announces that they are letting The Sims loose this coming Spring. First batch of screens inside!
Posted by John Grothier - Xbox,GameCube - UK and Europe

After the huge success of The Sims on the PC and now the PlayStation 2, Electronic Arts have just announced that they plan to release The Sims on Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo's GameCube this coming Spring. Players can create and control thier own Sims with some new game innovations that include level-based game play, two-player modes, and some truly dynamic 3D graphics.

'Bringing The Sims to the Xbox and Nintendo GameCube gives players the opportunity to play The Sims on a variety of console platforms,' said Sinjin Bain, of EA's Maxis studio and Executive Producer of the game.'Maxis is looking forward to providing the fun and quirky gameplay of The Sims to gamers on any type of console system.'

The Xbox and GameCube versions will feature a level-based mode titled 'Get a Life', where players can start the game with just one Sim, and control them through their life, where big moments such as moving out of Mum and Dad's house, getting that first job, and starting up a family of their own will feature in the game. Both versions of The Sims will also feature the much loved Sim-style open-ended gameplay that made the game such a classic. An all-new cast of wacky neighbours and creatures can be found on the Xbox and Gamecube version, including a monkey butler that if unlocked can serve your Sims every whim. Player can also dress and customize the appearance of their Sims, tailor them with accessories such as stylish hats, trendy glasses, cool hairstyles, and a huge variety of clothing options. An unlockable vanity mirror can also be used to change the appearance of your Sim in mid-game. The Xbox and GameCube will also support a two-player mode, where players can play their Sims with or against each other.

Silicon fusion will have more on The Sims soon, but in the mean time enjoy this first batch of screens for both consoles.
