Crazy Taxi to hit GBA
One of the most addictive arcade games to emerge from Sega's dev studios recently is coming to Nintendo's handheld!
Posted by Marc Hull - Game Boy Advance - UK and Europe

Crazy Taxi has been one of Sega's most successful franchises, with its mix of fast-paced action and an incredibly addictive-yet-simple concept that can keep you hooked for hours. However, it is also technically one of the most impressive, with huge cities modelled in realtime, populated with cars and traffic that are going about their daily lives, not to mention a complex physics system to model all the crashes you get involved in, so it's somewhat suprising to see it appear on a release schedule for the Game Boy Advance. Can Hitmaker recreate the speed and gameplay of the original title on the smaller screen? Well, if these screenshots are anything to go by, it's looking pretty damn good so far.

Although having nowhere near the level of detail found in the Dreamcast games, Crazy Taxi: Catch A Ride still contains an impressive 3D engine that recreates a texture-mapped 3D world which at least resembles that of the first game in the series. We're talking buildings, cars and some of the crazy San-Francisco style hills that made the original so fun to play, and as long as the game runs at a reasonable frame rate, there's no reason why this can't be just as fun as its bigger brothers.

We're waiting with anticipation for further details of this potential big-hitter, and hope to have some more information before its release this Spring. In the meantime, check out these early shots, and imagine playing Crazy Taxi in the palm of your hand later this year!
