26th February 2003:
First GameCube Burnout 2 screens
Acclaim's fast-paced racing game looked fantastic on the PS2, but how does it compare to the GameCube's impressive titles? Find out in these early screens!
Posted by Marc Hull - GameCube - UK and Europe

Burnout 2 was an absolutely fantastic PlayStation 2 game, which improved on its predecessor in almost every way. The tracks were bigger and more detailed, the cars were super-smooth and lavished in cool reflection effects, the crashes were more spectacular and the music adjusted itself neatly to suit the on-screen action. So, it's great news then that the title is no longer limited to PS2-owning gamers, with both Xbox and GameCube versions set to hit shop shelves later on in 2003. Not content with just a port, Acclaim also seem keen to include a wealth of new stuff to make up for the wait, with the Xbox version in particular getting new crash levels and Xbox-Live compatibility. However, while exclusive GameCube content hasn't been announced, expect it to at least look smoother and run at a higher frame rate compared to the PS2 version, which considering the quality of the original game, should satisfy most Nintendo fans.

We were lucky enough to get hold of some early screens from the GameCube title, showing off all the great detail and effects found in the PS2 original, and have posted them below. As usual, keep your eyes on our main page for further details on this game!
