Tolkien goodness fresh from the Shire to a Gamecube near you.

Forget Lord of the Rings, if not for the original Hobbit Bilbo Baggins there would be nought. Gamecube owners can rejoice as they are given the chance to partake in Bilbo's epic adventure that's yet to be made into an epic feature film.
"The Hobbit" is a third-person action/adventure game set in the world of Middle-earth. Travel across Middle-earth from Hobbiton to the Lonely Mountain and take part in the historic Battle of the Five Armies. You'll also meet legendary characters such as Gandalf, Thorin, the dragon Smaug, Elrond, and Gollum. Don't forget to explore recognisable areas such as Rivendell, Mirkwood, Laketown, and the Lonely Mountain while battling 30 different kinds of enemies that may stand in your way.

J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings have set the standard for fantasy writers and creators of epic worlds. The novels are massive best sellers, having sold close to 100 million copies worldwide and been translated into 26 different languages. Lets hope the game pulls off something special and shares the same success.

Release dates are sketchy but will be sometime this year. In the meantime enjoy these new screenshots.
