Dixons dumping GameCube's
The Dixons group are no longer stocking the GameCube console - Sale now on!
Posted by John Grothier - GameCube - UK and Europe

The massive electrical retail giant Dixons are no longer to stock Nintendo's GameCube console. The Dixons group, which comprises of Dixons, Currys, PC World and Link stores, will not be re-stocking once GameCube consoles are sold. This has lead to some fantastic special offers for the consumer, with the GameCube console on sale for just £99 and with one free game included; choose from Luigi's Mansion, Eternal Darkness, Disney's Magical Mirror, Wave Race or Pikmin. The sale also extends to all GameCube games, with titles on sale for just £25. Also if you purchase Pikmin, Crazy Taxi, or Burnout with a third-party steering wheel you will get a GameCube console for free!

Nintendo had this to say on the matter - 'Dixons represents a small share of Nintendo's business, and we are continuing to actively trade with them. GameCube is currently available in 4500 stockists across the UK including HMV, Toys R Us, GAME, Virgin Megastore, Argos, and Woolworths.'

With some massive GameCube titles like Zelda, Metroid Prime and F-Zero still to be released, we hope that other stores don't follow suit...
