New Pitfall Harry shots
Some new screens of adventurer Pitfall Harry swinging his way onto the PlayStation 2.
Posted by John Grothier - PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe

Take on the role of adventurer Pitfall Harry in a next-generation outing based on the old Atari 2600 game - Pitfall. Harry will have to make his way through 50 levels of fast-paced action, while taking time out to solve a few puzzles along the way. Harry will be able to swing, fight, climb and crawl through eight types of treacherous South American environments including lush jungles, dark tombs, ancient Aztec ruins and glacial mountains. If you remember the old Atari classic, you will be pleased to hear that vine swinging, gaping chasms, crocodiles and scorpions will all be included in his new adventure.

Pitfall Harry will be able to jump between adventure and puzzle levels by way of branching pathways inspired by the action of the original game. Harry will be up against snakes, scorpions, spiders, bats, jaguars, piranhas, insects, natives, mercenaries, bush ninjas and of course the mega monkeys. Harry will also have a few useful tools in his belt including an ice axe to help him ascend massive glacial cliffs, an elevating pogo stick, a slingshot, a torch and a mighty shield. Harry will also 'learn' new abilities that will assist in the quest, including a quick dash option and some useful combat manoeuvres

Pitfall Harry will be swinging his way onto your PlayStation 2 this autumn, but if you can't wait until then we have these new screens for you.
