Xicat interactive have just announced that ChopLifter: Crisis Shield will be buzzing onto the PlayStation 2 this June. ChopLifter: Crisis Shield is a remake of the arcade classic, and Xicat promises to mix frantic action with realistic flight control. 'ChopLifter is a great remake of one of gaming's best-selling and most popular franchises. We've taken the original premise of the game (a rescue chopper saving lives) and added every bell and whistle you could possibly want. It's an amazingly real and very addictive game', says Don Zabriskie, Head Producer at Xicat Interactive.

ChopLifter: Crisis Shield will put players through a series of gut-wrenching rescue missions that will test both flying skills and the ability to save lives under great pressure - and if that's not enough, the developers have made it all the more challenging by adding unpredictable weather conditions. ChopLifter will feature six helicopters ranging from civilian aircraft to military grade, all rendered from the actual manufacturer specs. Every helicopter will have realistic flight physics and each copter will have true to life cockpit views with moving gauges and working mechanisms. Pilot your way through 10 rescue missions, including a hotel fire, an erupting volcano, a raging flood, a mountain-top plane crash, an air-sea ship rescue, and a bomb scare on a speeding bus.
