BC is probably best described as a prehistoric survival simulation - a game where you take your tribe of cavemen (and women!) and help them tackle challenges, fight dinosaurs and avoid conflicts with other tribes. The developers have promised a huge amount of freedom in the game, allowing players to do pretty much whatever they want, and while it's still unclear how the gameplay will work in the end, it's certainly a mouth-watering concept which suits Lionhead's style of taking highly ambitious ideas and making them work.
One of the most exciting bits about the game so far, though, has to be the graphics, which wowed onlookers at Microsoft's X02 event last year, and we're pleased to say that these new screenshots don't disappoint either. The dinosaurs you meet in the game appear beautifully bump-mapped with tonnes of detail, while the environments seem to be visible right into the distance, while still containing nice touches like individual grass-blades when close up.
Overall, we're really looking forward to getting our first hands-on playtest of BC so that we can fully expose the gameplay mechanics and see if it plays as well as it looks. In the meantime, though, we'll keep bringing you the latest news and screenshots as they're released, so keep your eyes on Silicon Fusion!
