1080: Avalanche screens (E3 2003)
We have some brand-new screens of the sequel to the original snowboarding racer.
Posted by John Grothier - GameCube - UK and Europe

1080 Snowboarding on the N64 was the first 3-D snowboarding racing game that sparked off a whole new genre of racers. Nintendo have been showing off the sequel - 1080: Avalanche at E3, and snowboarding never looked so good! Akari Hayami and Ricky Winterborn are back with an all-new cast of memorable characters heading for the slopes for some high-speed snowboarding. 1080: Avalanche will allow players to race through realistic natural environments, which will include powder drifts, deadly ice patches and something called groomed hardpack. Players will also have to contend with massive avalanches, rockslides, cave-ins, bridge collapses and environments teeming with wildlife and other skiers. Just imagine yourself and a friend racing down the slopes and triggering off avalanche that completely engulfs your mate! If you are into tricks - 1080: Avalanche will not disappoint. Take advantage of a deep trick system, which lets you flip, spin, grab, grind and tweak your way to glory.

Stay tuned, as Silicon Fusion will bring you more on 1080: Avalanche before it's scheduled release this September.
