3rd June 2003:
NovaLogic announces new Delta Force expansion
For those who loved Delta Force Black Hawk Down, there's soon to be a whole raft of new features thanks to the latest expansion pack, Team Sabre.
Posted by Marc Hull - PC - UK and Europe

When Delta Force - Black Hawk Down leapt onto PC earlier this year, it generated some pretty spectacular sales, being the top selling game in America for three weeks, and debuting at the number two spot in the UK. This obviously didn't go unnoticed by the game's developers, NovaLogic, who have just announced a new expansion pack for the title to be released this Winter. Subtitled 'Team Sabre', this add-on will extend the game by adding a wealth of new missions and features, including new vehicles and better multiplayer support.

First and foremost, players who completed the original will be pleased to hear that two all-new single-player campaigns will feature in the expansion pack. These will see the Delta Force members tackle missions in both the jungle terrain of South Africa and the islands of the Persian Gulf. During these operations, you'll also come across a range of vehicles, including Helicopters and Hovercraft which can be boarded by multiple team-members for quick-deployment. There will also be an array of mounted weapons which your team members can use to provide you with cover while advancing. On the multiplayer side of things, online gaming will be extended by the addition of drivable vehicles and over 30 new maps. Meanwhile, LAN gaming now supports up to 50 players, and is customisable through a 'mod' system allowing people to develop their own battlefields and share them online.

Overall, this should prove almost irresistable to those who enjoyed the original game, and we hope to have more details closer to its Winter 2003 release. In the meantime, here are some early screenshots for your viewing pleasure.
