20th June 2003:
Terminator 3: War of the Machines
With drivable vehicles, fixed gun turrets and vast battlefields, Terminator 3: War of the Machines could just be the fix PC gamers have been waiting for.
Posted by John Wasabi - PC - UK and Europe

Terminator 3: War of the Machines is a singleplayer and online multiplayer first person shooter set in the ravaged battlefields of the Tech Com-versus-SkyNet conflict from the Terminator world. Currently in development by Hungary-based Clever's Games, Terminator 3: War of the Machines will allow up to 32 players to face off online as either technologically-advanced SkyNet Terminators or battle-hardened Tech Com Special Forces in an epic multiplayer struggle for supremacy.

"Terminator 3: War of the Machines will capitalise on every aspect of the feature film's popularity, from a immersive storyline that closely follows the movie's script to the first ever appearance of Arnold Schwarzenegger's likeness and voice in a videogame." said Martin Spiess, Head of European Marketing for Atari.

In Terminator 3: War of the Machines' vast multiplayer mode, players will compete online as either a member of Tech Com or as a SkyNet Terminator model. Eight playable character classes are available for SkyNet and Tech Com forces and up to 32 players can wage ware in each server. Humans will have the advantage of cunning and stealth while SkyNet will bring to bear the awesome power of overwhelming force, brutality and durability. Each class will offer unique advantages and disadvantages in numerous battle situations. For example, SkyNet T-900 Endoskeletons can utilise their unique vision to quickly and easily identify even the most camouflaged opponents, but will be unable to heal or repair themselves in combat like their human counterparts.

With promise of multi-vehicular battles as well, Terminator 3: War of the Machines promises plenty for the first person shooter market. Terminator 3: War of the Machines will release for PC in Winter 2003 and we wonder if Atari (Ex-Infogrames) will be able to ship 4 million units like they did with Enter the Matrix. In the meantime, enjoy these new screenshots and stay tuned for the latest with Silicon Fusion.
