2nd July 2003:
New screenshots of Time Crisis 3
The arcade to PlayStation 2 conversion of Namco's latest shooting title appears to be going well - check out how well in these new screens.
Posted by Marc Hull - PlayStation 2 - UK and Europe

The original Time Crisis, which appeared in arcades and on the PlayStation, was Sony's big hope to combat Sega's popular shooting games such as Virtua Cop and House of the Dead. Fortunately, it succeeded, and went onto produce a fantastic sequel which appeared on the PS2 a couple of years ago, while the Virtua Cop series faded into obscurity during the Dreamcast era. Now, having successfully built itself up to be one of the premier shooting series, the tables have turned as while Namco prepare the third game in their series, Sega is gearing up for a massive Virtua Cop rejuvenation with a new game on the Xbox.

Unfortunately, not even the merest nugget of information has passed from Namco's lips on the game, although with it having been in the arcades for a while now we're pleased to report that it's looking sharp, and should feature plenty of the two-player support play that featured in the second game. The only real question that currently hangs over the title is how good the PS2 conversion will be, although by the looks of these screenshots there shouldn't be much for us to worry about.

We're eager to get hold of more information on both this and Sega's big contender, Virtua Cop 3, to predict how this battle is going to turn out, but either way this is definitely a good time for shoot 'em up fans.
