Unreal II coming to the Xbox.
Developer Tantalus aim to make the Xbox version live up to the expectations that the PC version failed to fulfil.

After being poorly received on the PC, Tantalus and Legend entertainment, with the help of Epic Games, aim to create the definitive version of Unreal II for the Xbox.
The performance of the game will be improved and the controls will be modified to suit the Xbox controller. Although the story (involving a battle between the player and a horde of alien invaders) and weapons remain the same as the PC version, new multiplayer features are being added to improve the replay value of the game. The most substantial of these multiplayer modes is a split screen co op mode where the two players battle through the single player game as a team. Whilst this is available without Xbox Live!, those lucky enough to be hooked up will be able to play an all new class based multiplayer mode. Details of this mode have yet to be finalised, but expect it to take the idea of Return to Castle Wolfenstein's roles as an inspiration.
As those who have played the PC version will know, although the game was not ground breaking as an overall package, the graphics were perhaps the best yet seen. So good in fact that many PC graphics cards could not display all the features. Of course, for the Xbox version the developers have maximised the graphics to take advantage of the hardware. This involves an enhanced particle system that is capible of creating fire, smoke and weather effects.
As Tantalus has been brought in to develop the game, you can expect a quality port, with the involvement of the original developers sure to ensure that this version of the game will include all of the features intended for the PC version. Look for it at around Christmas time. Until then, look at the PC shots below to remind you of how great it looks.
