Call of Duty is a first-person action game that allows players to experience the movie-like intensity and gripping combat of World War II fighting as part of a squad through the chaos of battle.

Developed by Infinity Ward, which is comprised of over 20 individuals who developed the excellent Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Call of Duty delivers the gritty realism and cinematic intensity of WWII's most epic battlefield moments. Throughout the game's 24 missions, players will be part of a squad, who bond together to take on enemy forces and achieve mission objectives through pivotal WWII battles and authentic military campaigns.

You play the role of Allied soldiers battling Nazi forces through a variety of authentic combat, ranging from epic battlefield conflicts and coordinated tactical assaults to sabotage, stealth, sniper and even vehicle-based missions. There are huge battle moments that put players in the heat of the action, capturing the chaos of war from Allied bombers flying above, ground shaking explosions and tracer bullets streaking overhead. There are also a wide variety of environments, including historic battlefields, towns, bridges, forests, a POW camp and even a battleship, all realistically created from extensive WWII archival research.

Through advanced AI, a player's squad will act like a trained military unit, with authentic squad movements and tactics - laying down suppressing fire, providing cover fire, coordinating attacks on entrenched positions and even pulling wounded soldiers from the battlefield. Combat success will rely on a combination of skills along with the ability to work together with squad mates to accomplish mission objectives and eliminate enemies. Featuring advanced AI, enemies will make use of cover, use tactical combat manoeuvres and call for reinforcements.

You experience the gripping combat of WWII through the eyes of American, British and Russian soldiers, through four interconnected military campaigns spanning 24 epic game missions. Begin the campaign as a member of a U.S. D-Day paratrooper squad from the legendary 101st Airborne dropped behind enemy lines and lay the groundwork for the D-Day Invasion. Later, take the role of a member of the British Special Forces - 6th Airborne Troop, and take part in the famous assault of Pegasus Bridge. Lastly, assume the role of a Russian infantry soldier during the harrowing battle of Stalingrad. A final campaign will then wrap the stories of each of the three soldiers together, with one final daring mission to complete from each perspective.

Further immersing gamers into its gritty, first-person war-torn thriller Call of Duty, Activision has enlisted Jason Statham and Giovanni Ribisi to provide their trademark voice talent in key roles. What's more, accomplished writer/producer Michael Schiffer ("Crimson Tide, "Colors," "Lean of Me," "The Four Feathers" and "The Peacemaker") has added his screenwriting stamp to the game's action-filled script. Also film, television and award-winning interactive game composer Michael Giacchino has signed-on to score Call of Duty. In case you didn't know, his credits include the popular television series Alias, and renowned game soundtracks for Medal of Honor Frontline, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Medal of Honor Underground and Medal of Honor.

Based on an extensively enhanced version of the Return to Castle Wolfenstein/Quake III Game Engine, Call of Duty delivers an intense FPS experience, blending fast action gameplay and detailed graphics with epic battlefield scenarios featuring scores of soldiers and incredible special effects. Having only played the demo that has been available online for a while now, we are glad to say that the game is shaping up to be one of the finest PC games this year. Stay tuned for a review here soon at Silicon Fusion for what may be the most intense WWII game since Medal of Honour: Allied Assault.
